Nice. I’ve got around my ISP email address being refused, but now I’m constantly getting “Passwords do not match”.. regardless of me painstakingly entering both passwords in, and ensuring they’re identical, several times.

Restart Your Phone With One Click | Fansite of Nokia professional training

[...] A couple of days ago I’ve come across an application which lets you restart your mobile. I’ve been dying for this function in the S60 phones. I’m not sure why Nokia hasn’t implemented it yet. The application that does this is called EQ Restart and you can download it for free – download EQ Restart. Before you can install the application you’ll have to sign it. The signing process is quite difficult but there is a great guide available here. [...]

Have been hitting an error to do with .NET 3.5. I’ve googled this and it seems quite common. I’ve tried everything I can think of, so I think the problem is with the symbiansigned website. Meanwhile, the other guide method doesn’t seem to work either, also due to the website having issues. Guess I’ll just have to wait this one out. :(

The same error with net 3.5.. Tried everything. Maybe this is it:
“MESSAGE FOR DEVELOPERS – UPDATE 15th Feb
Developer Certificates and Open Signed Offline have been disable until Monday 18th February. Although we have resolved the issue of creating the DevCerts there are further issues caused by the huge demand for Developer Certificates when the service was enabled again.
We apologise for the inconvenience and will be working to ensure that this service is available again on Monday. Express Signing and Certified Signing is available as normal.”
So let’s just wait until tomorrow.
Thanks for the great job in explaining us how to sign.

Darn symbian signed site has disabled the signing feature for new developers… its meant to be back online today according to the friendly message – but it’s not!

The hell with Symbian…. They blocked any un-certified developers. Got an error message in the second step saying that “I exceeded the number of certificates allowed for production in 24 hours”. Although I just created a new user with them bastards.

I just went through this process twice, the easy way then the hard way, to get RotateMe 2.0 to work, only to find that Symbian Signed have decided I am not worthy to run an application I want to on my own phone because I don’t have one of their magical Publisher IDs. What an absolutely ridiculous situation, I’m really annoyed, now what am I supposed to do!?

… nothing!…same here…join the club; no more unsigned free symbian apps from now on apparently … :S

Im trying this new way to sign rotateme but all i get is the error:

yes…wait patiently in the hope that someone will “fix” the situation :)

Or sign up at the http://developer.symbian.com/forum/ and tell those people what you think of their OS like i did, or at least object :)

They seem to think that so many people sign up sat symbiansigned.com because they want to be developer.
….wile 90% signs up to be able to sign unsigned apps like rotate me.
Apps like rotate me ARE unsigned because the developer has to get them officially signed there before they can distribute them as signed freeware.
Symbiansigned however seems to be incredibly slow in signing freeware apps (nothing in it for them in the short run i guess)
….so samir is still waiting to get one of his first versions of rotateme signed. They claim to be too busy
….yeah signing all those certificates for keeps them busy!!!

O ps… even though he probably meant well, Kirollos Fares posted something that can not be used to sign a sis file that wasn’t made for open signing OR wasnt made with your developer email address …in other words, samir is now the only one that can use that link for signing the sis file he distributes :)

@stefan

What an amazing analysis!, Symbian should really stop this antifreeware policy and sign Samir’s application

A Note for all people who want to sign rotateme, Due to the new limitations of User IDs issued by Symbian signed, There is currently NO WAY available on earth to sign Rotateme “for people who don’t have unique Publisher IDs”

Any updates on this or are they still blocking all attempts?

15 03 2008
Kirollos Fares

@Shaun

Use this website to sign symbian apps https://www.symbiansigned.com/app/page/public/openSignedOnline.do , But this WON’T work with rotateMe, Nokmote, or any of Samir’s unsigned apps, But samir promised to issue versions that is signable with this new service,

This is nothign more then a pain in the a$$! we have already paid for the damn OS so why shoudlnt we be able to add things we want to. All they need to do is give youa warning saying ‘this is unsigned and could be dangerous to your device, continue anyway?’ then let it be installed. that way the liability is on the user, not them. Its annoying that people like Samir have spent so much time and effort developing these progs for everyone and cant even give it away free.
